New York City is a beast of a town, and if you want to stay in the thick of it, the Hyatt Centric Times Square puts you right in the heart of the action. Towering above the lights and chaos of Times Square, this hotel is a sleek, modern escape from the madness below—well, as much of an escape as you can get when you’re just steps from some of the most tourist-packed sidewalks in the world.
Location, Location, Location

You don’t get much closer to the epicenter of NYC than this. The hotel is just a block away from Times Square, meaning you can walk out the door and be right in the middle of the electric billboards, Broadway theaters, and never-ending foot traffic. If you’re planning to explore the city, you’re within easy reach of major subway lines, so getting to Central Park, the Empire State Building, or even Brooklyn is a breeze.
The King Times Square View Room

If you’re going to stay here, spring for the King Times Square View Room—it’s all about the views. Floor-to-ceiling windows give you a front-row seat to the neon madness below, while at night, the city lights stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s mesmerizing, and you almost feel like you’re part of the skyline yourself. The room itself is modern, clean, and comfortable, with a sleek design that feels sophisticated without being too over-the-top.
There’s something special about NYC at night, and the view from this hotel doesn’t disappoint. Whether you’re gazing down at the flashing lights of Times Square or looking out toward the city's skyscrapers, the scene is nothing short of cinematic. If you’re a night owl, you’ll love just sitting by the window, soaking in the city that truly never sleeps.
The Roof-Top Bar Experience
One of the notable features of the hotel is the roof-top bar, Bar 54, which comes with an unreasonably high $50 minimum. While the views from the bar are undeniably stunning, the service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff seemed disinterested at best and outright rude at worst, making the experience far less enjoyable than it should be. If you’re expecting warm hospitality, you might be disappointed. However, if you’re willing to deal with the attitude (and the pricey tab), the drinks and ambiance do make for a great nightcap.
On-Site Dining & Room Service Shenanigans

The Hyatt Centric offers some solid dining options, including T45 Market, a casual eatery, and Bar 54, the highest rooftop bar in NYC. The drinks are pricey (as expected in this part of town), but the views may make it worth it for you.
Room service, however, was another story. I ordered breakfast each morning, and each morning, I received something completely different than what I had actually ordered. Ordered an omelet? Got pancakes. Ordered fruit? Got a bagel. It became almost comical, like a breakfast roulette. If you’re a control freak about your morning meal, this could be frustrating. But hey, at least they consistently brought food—just not the food I actually wanted.
Final Thoughts: Worth It?
The Hyatt Centric Times Square is a fantastic option if you can snag a good price or use Hyatt points. The location is unbeatable, the views are spectacular, and the recent renovations make it feel fresh and modern. Just be prepared for a little breakfast chaos if you opt for room service. If you can roll with that, this hotel puts you right in the middle of everything NYC has to offer.
